Then, Helen began at Pomona Valley Hospital where she worked in the ER and Trauma Center OR of all surgical specialties. In 1988, Helen brought her expertise to Doctors Hospital in Montclair, California, continuing her career there as a surgical OR Nurse. Helen had the opportunity to move to Colorado in 1997 and began working at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Her OR credentials ranged from general surgery to open heart and brain surgery. With the advent of laser surgery, Helen gained great expertise in all lasers. Throughout her career, Helen was especially inspired to help those patients, post – surgical scarring because she witnessed first hand the physical and psychological distress this condition could impart. She also has extensive experience caring for cancer patients and burn victims as a result of her studies at the Sherman Oaks burn skin care unit at the University of Southern California.
Helen made her vision a reality of combining her past OR/ER experience, along with laser therapy with entry into aesthetic medicine in 2003 by opening the Skin Institute of Denver where she has applied her knowledge and learning from the field's "very best" with an emphasis on integration of Eastern and Western medicine as a critical, medical component to skin care and treatment. Educating patients and helping them sort out which options are available for their concerns as well as discussing expectations and the cause is Helen's priority in a providing a successful treatment plan. Individualistic plans are tailored for each patient as there are an enormous number of products and available treatments for cosmetic enhancement which can tend to be confusing and overwhelming. Helen brings her patients the invaluable skills necessary to create an OR sterile environment in her Clinic and in their treatment.
Helen has been extensively involved in anti-aging medicine and provides private complimentary consultations at the Skin Institute in order to inform and educate patients.
Helen lives in Littleton Colorado with her husband of 40 years, Roy, and their daughter, Ashley.
